Uruguay Get Ready To Play France Once Again
Uruguay haven't beaten Les Bleues in over 42 years. The last time they did was in the 1966 World Cup where the Charrúas came out on top in Group A play 2-1 at White City in London. 36 years later, in the 2002 World Cup, these two teams would lock horns again but neither team pierced the other's net.

Recoba Out For A Month
Uruguayan international Álvaro Recoba will have to be out of the Panionios lineup for the next month after suffering a glute injury. After suffering the injuring this past weekend, an ultrasound confirmed there being a tear in the gemellus muscle in his right glute.
Currently Panionios find themselves in ninth place with 11 points.

Uruguay Falls Out Of FIFA Top 20
La Celeste fell to 23rd place in the latest release of the Coca Cola FIFA Rankings. The Uruguayans were leapfrogged by Africa powers Nigeria and reigning champs Egypt.
The fall comes as a result of their loss against Argentina in Buenos Aires and their heroic draw against Bolivia in La Paz.
As far as the other South American sides, Brazil fell to its lowest-ever ranking (5th) while there is good news for Diego Maradona as the Albiceleste moved up one spot to sixth.

Marcelo Zalayeta- The Napoli forward came off the bench and scored in the 74th minutes as the Neapolitans came out on top against Sampdoria 2-0.
Luis Suárez- Ajax pummeled Sparta Rotterdam 5-2 and they were led by Suárez' brace. This was the Uruguayan international's third goal in two matches as he scored midweek in UEFA Cup action.
Mario Regueiro- Aris Salonica defeated Thrasyvoulos with a goal in the 83rd minute in the Greek Super League.
